Voting Rules

  1. Each vote can contain up to three local DJs (a minimum of one vote for a local dj is required).
  2. Votes are not weighted, so the order that DJs are selected in is not important, each DJ only receives one vote.
  3. To complete a voting card, voters need to select at least one local DJ (up to three can be chosen) plus one international DJ, one local producer, one event and one club night and voters need to reply to the voting confirmation email sent by inthemix.
  4. Only working DJs and event or club nights held in the period between 25th July 2006 and 25th July 2007 are eligible.
  5. Only one vote allowed per person.
  6. Voting opens on 9:am Wednesday 25th July 2007 and closes midnight Wednesday 5th September 2007.
  7. Results announced Wednesday 12th  September 2007 on www.inthemix.com.au
  8. The judge's decision on winners is final; no discourse will be entered into. The decision regarding the winners is made at the discretion of inthemix.com.au. Inthemix reserves the right to discount votes that appear to be fraudulent or in breech of these voting rules
  9. Winners, in the 'local DJ', 'international DJ', ‘local producer’ 'club night' and 'event' categories are determined by those who receive the most number of votes, no other criteria is taken into account.
  10. In the case where two local DJs, international DJs, club nights or events receive equal number of votes both will receive the top prize and no second place will be awarded in that category
  11. Definitions
    1. A "local DJ" is defined as one who has lived in Australia for a least 8 months of the period between 1st July 2005 and 1st July 2007 and is an Australian resident.
    2. A “local producer” is defined as a one who resided in Australia for at least 8 months of the year between 25th July 06 to 25th July 07 and released an original track or remix commercially, by any delivery format, in the last 12 months prior to voting.
    3. An "international DJ" is defined as a DJ who lived outside of Australia for at least 8 months between 1st July 2005 and 1st July 2007.
    4. A "club night" is defined as a recurring music night held in a club at least 6 times during the period between 1st July 2005 and 1st July 2007.
    5. An "event" is defined as a music event held anywhere (inside or out) between one and five times between 1st July 2005 and 1st July 2007.

About the poll

In 2005, 42,000 votes were cast for Australia's favourite DJ in the third annual Technics inthemix50 DJ Poll. We're keen to make 2007 the biggest yet!

This year's poll results will be announced at an awards ceremony in Sydney on Wednesday the 30th of August with a national tour and CD release to follow.
