In 2009, though, Adelaide clubbers naturally think of Ryan Straccia and Xavier Roberts, who have swooped in to take out the title of South Australia’s favourite DJs.

    Another brand spankin’ new entry into both the South Australian top 5 and national top 50, Def Starr spent 2009 rocking Adelaide’s freshest clubs on a regular basis, including 8 Bit Kidz at Rocket Bar and the city’s coolest new club Limbo. They’ve also supported The Bloody Beetroots and Mr Oizo.

    Reelax, aka Ryan Wilson, is a regular at uber cool Adelaide nightspot Electric Circus, as a resident for the weekly Onelove party. He also hosts his own show on Fresh FM, where he keeps himself busy interviewing all the biggest and best artists going around.

    SammonDJ will no doubt be quite chuffed with himself this year, making his virgin entry into the South Australian top 5. Electro, tech and breaks make up his signature style, and in 2008 he snagged 2nd place at Fringe Festival’s Spin DJ Battle. He’s even played at infamous Victorian doof Earthcore.
