Audiences love the Drake. Musically, Jeff has a genuine ability to not only play, but deliver fantastic performances across a variety of genres. Jeff is as skilled at rocking the main room playing up front big room sounds as he is getting down and dirty in the backroom, thanks to a sound that is fuelled by his astute ear for quality music, an approach that is constantly evolving and a style that never loses site of the dance floor. Club promoters love The Drake too. Holding down residencies and regular gigs across Australia, including Chinese Laundry (Sydney), Tank (Sydney), Family & Empire (Brisbane), plus his own Friction night in Canberra, you can see why he has been voted #1 DJ in the ACT Technics/ ITM Australian Top 50 DJ Poll 2005 / 2007.
Here comes another pearler to wrap your eyeballs around, this time concerning the epic New Year’s Eve party plans for the crew over at Chinese Laundry.
Die-hard post-festival dance junkies were offered flavours from global dance meccas as disparate as Holland, Britain and America.
As a new festival season warm up 360 was intense and a wicked sign of things to come. This epic night brought Canberra the likes of A-Trak, Tiga and MSTRKRFT to the 15+ event and went off like a frog in a sock!
The time for 360 has finally rolled around and as you were getting hyped up to kick the weekend off, you might have come across a few nasty murmurs circulating the city about the party being cancelled. Well dry those clubber tears!
Check out the set times, but make sure you get in early to catch warm-ups by the locals before the roof-raising Canadians take the spotlight!
What a night it was. H.O.S.H. and Jim Rivers really lived up to expectations, and although their styles were wildly different, they complimented each other really well...
Chris Fraser & Jeff Drake make a great double act, and I'd love to see them play on the same night with Chris getting everyone up and Jeff keeping them there. But for now I'll settle with this great album, and catching them on Raw FM occasionally.
Anticipation was in the air, with both downstairs rooms of Chinese Laundry set to blow their lid with some awesome DJs like Club Junque and Matttt supporting Israeli superstar Guy J.
RawFM has developed into a bona fide national clubbing brand over the years, and to mark the release of the station's latest compilation 'Raw 09', ITM sits down with Chris Fraser and Jeff Drake who were responsible for putting it together.
What to choose for Easter Saturday Night? A: Sit quietly at home and wait for some dude on a bunny delivering chocolate eggs. Or…. B: Dance your buns off to two of the Greatest Progressive House DJs this world has ever known.
If you're heading out with friends for a drink or two, why not choose a night promoting a good cause? Promoters and DJs have donated their time and are asking you to donate your money at the following free events!
So another Saturday passes and another awesome act (well, three this time) plays another awesome set at the same awesome club. It’s all getting a bit predictable, isn’t it? But hey, I never liked surprises as a kid.
Back in town not too long since his last visit, Anthony Pappa played Rise on Friday night, delivering another quality set to a very up for it crowd.
On a typically balmy Sydney night, things were about to get a whole lot warmer. Quite literally. The UK's Danny Howells was coming to Chinese Laundry, and there was excitement aplenty.
UK tech-funker Meat Katie returned to Australia, but local Sydney DJ Matttt stole the show.
