It’s been two years since South African rap act Die Antwoord released the video for their track ‘Enter the Ninja’; the clip quickly going viral and sparking an international fascination with Ninja, Yo-Landi Vi$$er and less-prominent member DJ Hi-Tek. Since then, the group’s self-described “next level beats”, trademark Zef style and refusal to give a single fuck about what anyone thinks has won them an army of Zeflings worldwide. Because when Ninja proclaims in the group’s first single “This is, like, the coolest song I heard in my whole life”, you can’t help but agree.
