Shapeshifter have been heralded as a musical phenomenon for their ground breaking live shows, and have received widespread critical and commercial acclaim for their recorded work.
Their latest album ‘Soulstice’ entered the NZ national charts at remarkable #4, and they spent over 2 months in the top 20, also reaching #1 on the independent charts. In 2006 they were awarded the New Zealand bnet music award for Best Live Act, Song of the Year for ‘Bring Change’ and Album of the Year for ‘Soulstice’.
Shapeshifter are New Zealand’s top drum and bass band and favourite live act. They’ve toured Australia for the Big Day Out, and were even selected as the support band for heavy metal band Tool at their Melbourne sideshow.
The band’s sound has evolved to transcend genre definition, taking elements from jazz, latin, reggae, soul, rock, hip hop and electronica, and blending it all live in a truly diverse and overwhelming dancefloor experience.
Shine On festival, going down in the Victorian bush this weekend, has announced its set times.
No stranger to The Metro, Shapeshifter returned with a bang to finish off their Australian album tour.
It only takes one encounter with Shapeshifter live to be converted.
Things just keep getting better at Shine On, with the festival adding plenty of extra incentive to make the road-trip in 2011.
You’re always guaranteed a momentous show from Shapeshifter, and the Kiwi collective is back here in Spring.

With last year’s *Groove on a New Year’s Day* a raging success and *Summadayze* going national in 2010, what better way to welcome the new decade than combining the two to make for one of Adelaide’s most anticipated music events of the millennium.
Before I arrived a friend warned me that Summadayze had been canceled because all the cheese had melted yet fortunately he was wrong, and Summadazye 2010 went off despite the oppressive heat.
It was a sultry *Summadayze* and while some zombies would have been better served to go home and wish their parents a happy new year for others, electronic music would soon dust the cobwebs from weary limbs.
Deep Dish might be yesterday’s news, and techno prince Dubfire might have got the lion’s share of the attention after the group went their separate ways a few years ago – but to write off an elite talent like Sharam would be more than a little silly
