A teenage obsession subsequently lead to the rise of one of Australia’s most well-known and respected DJs, gender regardless. Amber Savage is a favourite of dancefloors across the country, her ballsy approach to the decks truly a sight to behold whenever she takes to them.

Unabashedly devoted to the heavier side of dance music – “I don’t play the fluffy side of anything,” she has been quoted as saying – Savage has taken her DJing from the festival circuit here at home all the way to Berlin, where she performed to over one million people at the annual Love Parade. She continues to tour constantly and is constantly in favour with the entire dance community in Australia, having secured a position in every Top 50 DJ poll that InTheMix has run since 2003.
