Q Bert returned to Sydney as part of the 'Elements' tour. The name and the tagged-up flyer were perhaps a little pretentious, but they filled the arrogantly-staffed Metro, and even if the crowd was a little down the mainstream compared to your usual hip hop night, they seemed willing to have fun. Fuzzy's seasonal breaks parties have long been the mainstay of the Sydney breaks scene, and as the scene has expanded, so have the parties. After the phenomenal success of 360, Fuzzy return to the Hordern with a killer line-up spanning the broken beat spectrum. [more]
So, quibbles aside, this was a good night for all concerned. A little more variety would have been nice, but it's not every night you get to see the greatest scratch DJ in the world strut his stuff, so one doesn't want to be too churlish about it all... [more]
