This April, dubstep trailblazers Digital Mystikz will venture down under to put our sound-systems through their paces.
The ‘heads will likely be upset by the news that Atlantic Connection will no longer be playing final DNBBQ party for 2009, but they've been well and truly compensated with the news they’ll be going ahead with a free event in its place!
Well once again Sydney’s premier dubstep and grime night *VOID* came up with the goods. The headliners this month were Gravious and Seven, brought out to Darlinghurst from Glasgow and London respectively.
Dubstep is synonymous with gravy. Why gravy you ask? Cause it’s dark, smooth, and has all the traces of all the good flavours from other delights!
I believe I started developing a fondness for dubstep and 2-step when a colleague of mine played it at work. From that moment I wanted to dive right in and check out the scene. Pirates, raggae, grime, wobblers - what more could you want?
The DNBBQ returns after a short break, bringing with them everyones favourite live act, The Bird.
Following the recent news that Sydney’s Foreigndub crew will be launching their own record label their flagship DNBBQ party will also be returning, with performances from fresh signings The Bird as well as Melbourne producer Ishu.
It’s not often Australia’s underground music scene becomes synonymous with the orphan crisis in Africa… After all, the two are worlds apart right? Well, not according to the DJs and promoters of the Dub for La No Che fundraiser.
Some of the Sydney underground electronic scene’s finest will team up on Saturday March 15th for a fundraiser at Hermann’s Bar, hoping to bring awareness to the plight of African orphanages.
To the promoters and organisers, thank you for such a fun, friendly and musically awesome event. To the attendees, you guys are fabulous fun and really make this event what it is, and BOY you can dance.
