Dave Pham describes his musical style as “electronic music of all kinds” on his Facebook page, and it’s clear to anyone that has watched him perform a set over the years that he is bold and remarkably versatile as a DJ, unafraid to play some of the more unconventional sounds within the field of EDM.
Beginning as a vinyl nut in the early 90s, it wasn’t long before Pham was trying out mixing using some borrowed decks. One thing lead to another, and soon he was recognised as a prominent techno DJ in Australia. This also lead to a major shift in dynamics as he began adding, subtracting and blending various styles and genres into his sets. This has lead him to become one of the most respected DJs in the country, and he continues to actively pursue the blurring of genre lines to this day.
As soon as you’re locked in a conversation with Dave Pham, it’s easy to see why he’s one of Melbourne’s true stand-up guys.
