12 years ago, something miraculous happened. The Chinese Laundry was born.
The entire night was all about great talents, good music and no pretentious people. Another great thing about the night is the realisation of how much talent Australian DJs have; no bullshit, just pure talent.
Sydney's DJ Samrai has won the top spot in the 2005 Australia ITF Scratch Championships. Samrai beat out competitors at last week's national final, held on Thursday October 27th at Home nightclub.
"It all revolves around the hands" says Samrai. Oooh yeah, hold up, what? Oh sorry, we're talking about DJing right? Yes indeed. Currently one of the best hip hop DJs in Australia, humble, down to earth, talented, cheeky and dedicated.
To coincide with the release of Blazin' 4: The Mixtape, a huge national tour is taking place, with Nino and Samrai playing no less than 32 launch dates across the country.
The only possible downfall of this event would be missing it. Much respect goes out to Brand, Flagrant and Ben Shepherd for putting their time, effort, dollars and passion into such an awesome showcase and for keeping Hip Hop alive in Melbourne.
