Hailing from a quite corner of Montreal, Canada, Alain scratched his first record when he was 13. After locking himself in a basement with Jazzy Jeff and Pete Rock records, videos and a set of decks, he emerged two years later and barely an armpit hair in sigh and he blew the competition away. Of all the dance music festivals, Good Vibes has always been my favourite, generally boasting some of the most diverse collection of artists from across many different musical spectrums. And this year’s line up was no exception. [more]
Good Vibrations Festival 2008 was an outdoor summer event held at Heirisson Island – the first time that the venue has been used here in Perth. We were in for a huge treat of musical mayhem. [more]
After weeks of almost incessant rain, the weather gods shone on Brisbane on Sunday for the Good Vibrations Festival, and thankfully gave us all a beautiful day. [more]
Another weekend another festival, or so it seems in this ever cramped calendar of events. But with Kanye, Cypress Hill, The Rapture and Calvin Harris on the bill, not even the threat of rain can deter the punters. [more]
Honkytonks had a massive turnout to see DJ A-Trak work his magic on the turntables. Being a former multiple DMC Champion as well as Kanye West's liveshow DJ, A-Traks live sets are eagerly anticipated. DJ J-Red warmed up the crowd and welcomed A-Trak to the club. [more]
Not only was it the fact that A-Track is an incredible turntablist, but the chance to go back to the place I spent so much of my early twenties was too much to keep me from going to Innc on Friday night. [more]
