A DJ once described as being “as energetic as he is enigmatic,” Illya has built a solid reputation as one of the leading DJs on Sydney’s ever-burgeoning circuit. Having a passion for electronic music and raves from an early age, Illya spent many years as a fan before being inspired to give the decks a proper go for himself.

He got his start playing sets at Sydney clubbing institution ‘The Globe’ as a guest DJ at Switched On on Fridays nights, as well as being a resident DJ at One on Saturdays. He then moved into promotion with a fellow resident, DJ Frenzie; and the two started Fly, a club night held on Saturdays which introduced Sydney to some of its favourite international names including Kaskade, Jay-J and Crazy Penis to name a few.

His record collection – as well as his simply jaw-dropping techniques when it comes to putting this collection to use on the turntables – is proof alone of why he is a worthy contender when it comes to being named one of the top DJs in Australia. In 2003, he scored the number 18 posit in the inthemix Australian Top 50 DJ Poll, before climbing the ranks to the Number 8 position the very next year and holding the same spot in 2005. Consistently popular and continually on the rise, Illya continues to make a huge impact on the scene, and you’ve really got nothing to lose in going along with it.
