Another day, another celebrity death rumour, and today a fresh hoax has popped up and ripped through the internets, this time apparently claiming the life of Chicago house pioneer DJ Funk.

I'm sure we have all noticed the profane insanity of the whole festival bombardment situation in Australia. Don't get me wrong, I love outdoor festivals but there's something about seeing your favourite acts in an intimate setting.

It was certainly a big risk adding another festival to the Brisbane scene, but the intimacy and family-like atmosphere topped with a good lineup of niche artists was refreshing. Brisbane’s music loving community should consider itself lucky.
