The Rosemount Hotel was built during the Gold Boom and has been continuously operating since 1902 as a social meeting place and venue for the community of North Perth. The building holds historical value, as it is a heritage listed building built in the Federation Filigree style of architecture. It is very near the CBD and Northbridge and is Perth’s leading independent live music venue. Breakthrough bands from throughout Australia and the world have played here, in this landmark venue. The Rosemount Hotel has more to offer than just the best in live music, however: come here for a scrumptious lunch of dinner and themed entertainment nights throughout the week. The sold out sign went up for the Shapeshifter gig early in the week and tickets were as sought after as tickets to a Bledisloe Cup match. Walking past the Rosemount at 8.30pm I saw a sizeable crowd already inside and lining up.
