Manning Bar is located within the grounds of the University of Sydney and is easily accessible by public transport, taxi and car. It’s a 10 minute walk from Redfern station and a short walk from the bus stop on Parramatta Road. You can park your car on campus for a flat rate of $6 after 3pm.
Open Monday – Friday midday to 3 a.m. Sunday 10 a.m – 12 a.m.
Manning bar has been the home of many different bands including The Presets, Cut Copy, The Vines and The Avalanches. The venue has hosted regular student DJ sessions, their annual campus band comp as well as programs like Manning the Decks and Weekend Warm Up.

I'm sure we have all noticed the profane insanity of the whole festival bombardment situation in Australia. Don't get me wrong, I love outdoor festivals but there's something about seeing your favourite acts in an intimate setting.
Always a fantastic night, this season's DNBBQ didn't disappoint, with raging DnB, chilled out dub and gourmet barbecue delights keeping the crowd happy til the early hours.
Sounds in the Grounds was packed, not just with talent but with people enticed by a line-up featuring some of the best emerging bands in the country and a sweet ticket price.
What really impressed me was the way X-Ecutioners could work as a team, and kept the music flowing. It’s really hard to describe in words how good these guys were and how much fun I actually had at this event, it was like nothing else.
With a stellar line up of local and international DJs and MCs, it was a little bit of lets-be-havin’-ya with a griddle full of meat at the Manning bar for the arrival of Brazil’s DJ Marky.
