01. The Aston Shuffle

It's been a massive year for 2010 champions The Aston Shuffle. After taking out top honours in the inthemix50 last year, 2011 has seen the Canberra natives release their first LP 'Seventeen Past Midnight' to critical acclaim, as well as debut their live show on tour around the country. Next up, the Parklife national tour will get a taste of The Aston Shuffle live.

  • 02. Peking Duk

With their music touted as "atmospheric and quite beautiful, yet also hectic and capable of total dancefloor destruction", it was only a matter of time before these fresh-faced newcomers burst onto the scene. We guess that's what happens when your tracks are given 4/5 reviews from the likes of Steve Aoki.

  • 03. Jaytech

Former Canberra boy Jaytech has been leading the dance/EDM scene all over Europe and the US, and returns to his home country to support Above & Beyond in their September tour. Since playing alongside them at 2010’s Future Music Festival and mixing a compilation for the Anjunadeep sub-label, Jaytech has become veterans of the Anjunadeep family.

  • 04. Cheese

In the Top 5 for the 2nd time in so many years, Cheese has beyond proved himself in 2011 with the Canberrian selected to play the critical peak time slot after SKRILLEX and before DEADMAU5 on the Main Stage 'Arena at this year's Warehouse Winter Music Festival 2011.

  • 05. Jared De Veer

Yet another new kid on the block, maybe 2011 is the year of de Veer? Catapulted from his weekly residency at Canberra's biggest club Academy to playing Foreshore '11 to then supporting some of the biggest acts - Calvin Harris, Afrojack, Martin Solveig, impressed yet?
