Co-founders and studio brains of Get Physical Music, Arno Kammermeier and Walter Merziger aka Booka Shade became international stars of house and techno thanks to their 2005 club smashes ‘Mandarine Girl’ and ‘Body Language’. The following year saw the release of the critically acclaimed ‘Movements’ LP. Booka Shade then embarked on the Movements World Tour, a tireless trail which saw them perform their new work live and direct to thousands of ravers and revellers at clubs, concert halls and festivals from Brisbane to Belgrade, Manchester to Miami, over the course of two years.
As their mammoth world tour – which took in 150 shows in twenty months – comes to an end, Booka Shade have released a special edition of ‘Movements’: a CD/DVD package featuring the full album and a full live performance filmed in front of 12,000 fans at Belgium’s Pukkelpop Festival, and bursting at the seams with special features and exclusive audio/visual content. On the album you’ll find two previously unreleased tracks, ‘We Came To Dance’ and ‘Monkey On My Deck’, as well as a wealth of bonus audio material – all the B-sides and digital exclusive tracks from the album – also a revealing 20-minute tour documentary, based around interviews with Booka Shade and the people who surround them – friends, fans, and those who helped make the Movements World Tour happen.
