The founders of the Get Physical Music label, who hold the current honour of “Label of the Year” from DJ Mag, have teamed up with !K7 for their infamous DJ Kicks series. “DJ Kicks is the perfect project for us,” states Arno, “because it allows us to do our own thing. It allows us to make a musical statement, and that was what was appealing to us. People don’t see us just as hot DJs, so this isn’t just a snapshot of summer 2007, it’s about creating something that will last.”
One of the world’s most exciting electronic live acts (opening up for Depeche Mode, Royksopp and more), Booka Shade have released two albums to date: the classic 2004 debut ‘Memento’ and 2006’s ‘Movements’ (one of XLR8R´s Top 100 albums of all time, which includes the timeless club hits ‘Mandarine Girl’ & ‘Body Language’).
