We’re just getting started with 2008 and it certainly looks like episode 51 of the inthemix podcast sessions will be on of the year’s highlights! We have another of our special edition double headers this fortnight, with both Hook N Sling and Sam La More popping up to coincide with their new Ministry of Sound ‘Clubber’s Guide To 2008’ CD release. We’ve also got new music from Good Vibrations Festival acts High Contrast and Bag Raiders, as well as Dopamine. It’s hot!
Feature Artists
Hook N Sling – Plastic Wrap [Hussle]
For any up and coming producer the thought that one day you’d get your tunes signed, be able to tour the world, and eventually be asked to mix a Ministry Of Sound CD… well it’s something that anyone would dream of. When all of this happens in about one year, then you’d know that what you’re doing is something special. The story of Hook N Sling’s rise is something for the history books. Known for his breakthrough remix of Sarah McLeod’s ‘He Doesn’t Love You’ and his ARIA nominated collaboration with Kid Kenobi on ‘The Bump’, it’s made Hook a household name on the Australian dance scene.

Pnau – Wild Strawberries (Sam La More Remix) [etcetc]
The name Sam La More has been floating around for a while now, but it’s only recently that he’s come to the forefront thanks to work alongside Groove Terminator as Tonite Only and more recently his solo outings. His work as a producer behind the scenes has seen him travel the world and work with some of the globe’s biggest names, such as Gwen Stefani and the Pussycat Dolls, while his work on tracks like Sneaky Sound System’s ‘Pictures’ and The Potbelleez ‘Don’t Hold Back’ have kept his name in the spotlight. Sam is literally the man behind countless productions.
