Although it was a no-show from Daniel Ro it certainly didn’t impact on this party. Ro may have missed his gig but Yoshi, Steve Nichols, Mickey D, Krazy Joe, Dubs and Hush DIDN’T MISS A BEAT!

This was a night of immensely powerful and uplifting sets of Hard Dance and Nu-Energy. Global Panic was without a doubt one of the best club nights I’ve been to in a long time.

Imagine this. Being invited to a birthday party where the guests receive the presents! Well that’s exactly what happened at Global Panic. Between Yoshi and the forces of The Frantic Team (UK, Syd & Melb) these boys delivered big time! The atmosphere was electric.

First up was Krazy Joe b2b with Hush They were gracing the decks with their hard edged euphoric trance building up into hard house – UK style. Krazy Joe has been playing for quite a while with the Frantic crew and Hush is a really talented up & comer. The strong Kevin Energy influence was evident throughout the night which is fast becoming very flavoursome. Some tracks included: Speed of Light – Mark Ashley, Vertigo & Indestructible – K Complex.

Next up was Yoshi. It was his birthday and also the release of his latest track “4th Dimension” on Peroxide Records. More birthday presents! Gifts of new music and an incredible night had obviously been well planned! The kind of music Yoshi was churning out was, I have to say, possibly one of THE best sets of music I’ve ever heard him do! It was fast and pumping and this energy was reflecting the sound of the UK Hard Dance scene. Judging from the expression on his happy face you could see how ecstatic he was and how much he was enjoying his birthday. Some of his tracks included:

Revolution, Don’t You Want My Lovin, Touch Me, Inside of Me – yes you read that correctly! We couldn’t believe our ears. An oldie but a valuable gem! The pumping dance floor was a sea of smiling faces. It was a great atmosphere.

Steve Nichols b2b with Mickey D then graced the decks for us. I think it was here at this point that I actually “crossed over”. So this is Hard Dance! These guys were true quality – a happy hard trance that flowed. Steve Nichols is now based in Melbourne after returning from a three year stint in the UK. His expertise is obvious as is his much recognised knowledge in production as well. His sets are perfect and his sound is inspirational. Some tasty tunes were: I Feel Love & Not Over Yet. Steve Nichols is an innovative seasoned professional and between the two of them they left a strong impression.

Next was Dubs who then took to the stage. Wow! Just when you think it couldn’t get any better we are given more! Freeform/Nu-Energy Hard Dance is how Dubs likes to describe his style and he certainly didn’t disappoint anyone! He played some exciting fast stuff again, with a heavily influenced Kevin Energy sound. Powerful sets to say the least. The crowd just lapped it up. He was also giving away his new CD – Global Panic which is a brand new release. Dubs’ mixing is solid and his track selection was second to none. He has a unique ability to mix uplifting hard house with drum n bass combined with trance. Some stand out favs included: Roll with This – Kevin Energy, 48 Hours. It was absolutely impossible to stand still and not dance. Seriously folks, watch out for Global Panic mixed by Dubs. For a debut cut this DJ has got a bright future without a doubt. I can’t stop listening to it.

Shouts and huge thanks go out to Gas, the artists and in particular the punters who were responsible for such a happy atmosphere amd being such delightful company. Big shouts also go out to the fine array of dancers present that night on the dance floor and beyond. The night was truly sensational.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
