The destination was Globe for the first instalment of the halcyon:breaks nights. For a Friday night, the club was filling quickly and by 11 the downstairs section was getting down to the fine sounds being produced by James Taylor.

Set times indicated Kraymon was up at 12 but there was a last minute change of plans when Lish stepped up at 12 and played for an hour. By this time Globe was full and upstairs was opened to the funky breaks and awesome mixes of Gadget. As always, Gadgets set was outstanding with a great mix of beats and breaks.

After Lish finished hyping the crowd up, Kraymon graced the decks at 1 to a packed and excited Globe. He played from 1-3 and his set was relentless! Every time you went to sit down, he forced you back up again! The sound downstairs was questionable at times, with it reaching an ear bleeding level and not being equalised properly but the crowd didn’t seem to mind.

Whilst Kraymon was rocking downstairs, Mark Walton took over upstairs and picked up exactly where Gadget left off. Lish took over from Kraymon at 3, finishing the second half of his split set. After Lish, Matt Aubusson and Dave Choe finished the night off downstairs while Funktion wound it down upstairs.

Globe was surprisingly full all night and the most noticeable thing was the friendly, up for a good time attitude from all the punters. Perhaps it was the good vibes Globe seems to give off but the night was a total winner and left everyone begging for the next one.
