The next installment in the series of Omega Trance Productions ‘Trancefixion’ nights proved yet again to be a success with local trance DJ’s spinning the most quality of tunes till the early hours. Resident DJ’s Jon Noonan and Lanithium joined forces with newcomer Daniel Brooks and The TrainwreckaH for a night of trance indulgence in all its forms.

Arriving shortly after doors opened at 10pm I was surprised with how perfect the little upstairs room at Heat was for this event. Big enough to accommodate those who wished to dance as well as ample seating and talking space, and complete with its own mini bar the upstairs room really was well suited for the event. Daniel Brooks was behind the decks first, setting a nice trance vibe with his selection of records combined with his neat mixing. Gradually the room started to fill and a few punters braved the mini dance floor and let loose to Brooks’ very danceable tunes.

By the end of his set, Brooks had the whole room bopping to his own blend of trance and well preparing them for the blinder of a set that Jon Noonan was about to unleash. The clock struck 11pm and it was time for Noonan to take to the decks. For the next two hours he took the room on a randomly good and very tasty trance excursion, exploring many of the different sounds of trance alternating smoothly between uplifting and melodic tunes. He then integrated some tech flavour by dropping the LSD mix of Jaydee ‘Plastic Dreams’ and Cave ‘Street Carnival’ which worked the tech factor up with its vibrant tribal beats powered by its severely intense percussion factor. This saw the dance floor fill up rapidly with everyone present rocking to the mix. Noonan’s clever mixing made for a tight set, which was quite skillful considering the range of tunes dropped throughout his set.

Lanithium was next up and had the next two hours to work with. Starting out on a more toned down note, he dropped a few progressive trance tunes which set the mood nicely for the direction his set was to take. Dropping Nathan Fake’s ‘Outhouse’ as his second tune, well and truly got the crowds attention with its mysterious melody and upbeat percussion. Taking things higher, Lanithium pumped the system with some fresh and very fine uplifting trance tunes including the amazing Super8 ‘Alba’. One thing that is always very apparent during Lanithium’s sets is his smooth style of mixing. Whenever he has two tunes in the mix, it flows so well that it’s as if one track just melts off into the next, blending perfectly and resulting in an impeccable trance journey every set. Dropping Cern ‘The Message’ (Northern Mix) as his final track was an excellent and very fitting tune to end off with.

The TrainwreckaH was up next and kept the place rocking until close. Dropping a selection of trance tunes including Schiller – Ein Schoner Tag (Kaycee Mix), Basic Dawn ‘Pure Thrust’ and Scott Mac ‘Damager 02’ he alternated nicely between both hard and uplifting trance making for a very interesting and nicely mixed set. Once again Trancefixion proved to be a great success providing quality trance tunage all night long in an intimate and very comfortable setting.
