Codered was an all ages rave held at a warehouse on Silverwater Rd. Once we arrived at this event we were greeted with a large sized queue (which fortunately moved quickly) outside. Most people had been at Shoreshocked 2004 at North Sydney Park and had come straight over to this venue to continue the party.
The venue located on Silverwater Road consisted of three levels. The first being the main level which was like a HUGE warehouse (which was the MAIN arena). Then there was a flight of stairs which lead up to the second level, which seemed like a unit. This level was used for the chill out area with loads of people jam packing themselves around this room to sit and exchange conversations etc. Then finally the third level brought us itno what looked like another unit, only this one was used as another dance floor with a more GABBER style of music for the fans of the harder beats.
Overall the venue was very impressive, the only problem I could see was it would have been better to have had an open air chill out area instead of an indoor one. The general crowd consisted of the usual young Sydney rave crowd all out and about, ready for a big night with lots of dancing and socialising with mates. Security and paramedics were doing their bit by making regular laps of the venue to ensure it stayed a safe environment.
The DJs managed to set the right atmosphere by just doing what they do best DJING. With DJs such as Amber Savage, Weaver and Suae, just to name a few, the night was a truly splendid event with plenty of happy hard, hardstyle and trance pumping through the warehouse all night long. The laser show was altogether nothing fabulous but it was good, better than some setups I’ve seen at other raves lately. To summise Codered was a fabulous rave and I look forward to the next Codered event.
This event started at 9pm and went until 8am which was a brilliant extra hour for those party lovers who thrive for an extra set or two.
