Arriving out the front of Gas Nightclub, there was already a small line-up come 10pm when the club was due to open. Jumping Jack was up first, and I tell you what – it was not a happy place out the front of the club as we were itching to get in. I’ve seen Jumping Jack play quite a number of times now and I did not want to miss any part of his set.

Finally at around 10.20pm we got in, and as nice as the Bohem Lounge appeared, all I wanted to do was get down to the main room. Down we go and there’s Jumping Jack pumping out the sensational sounds as per usual. The club was near empty for quite a while up until about 11.15pm which was such a shame. JJ’s set was special, with the highlight being when he played DJ Tiesto’s Lethal Industry. If the place had been a little more filled that would have just tore the roof off!

On came Scott Bond at midnight and what more can I say other than – what a DJ! I’ve been following Scott’s work for about 5 years now and just have to say the man is a genius. There is good reason why he is put into that elite circle alongside Tiesto, Armin van Buuren, Paul van Dyk and Eddie Halliwell. Scott played loads of new tracks and I spent the best part of the night jumping up and down to the side of the DJ booth like a crazed lunatic. When Scott played his ever special track “3rd Earth” that was it for me, I felt like I was floating on air! Looking down at the packed dancefloor, it was obvious that absolutely everyone else felt the same way.

Scott finished off his set playing his much awaited new release track called Red Line Highway. What a track! Keep your eyes out for his new CD release which features Red Line Highway. It’s due out shortly. I have to admit, when I first heard that Scott was playing at Gas I thought that it was unfortunate he wasn’t playing at a better venue. To my amazement, my thoughts have now been turned. Gas proved to be the perfect venue. The lighting was also spot on.

Dave Lea followed Scott and turned it up a notch playing very hard house. He followed Scott brilliantly and just lifted that roof off even further. Bexta also made an appearance last night too. Why is it Bexta only ever gets short sets..? She deserves so much more! Last time I saw her play was quite a while ago at Transmission and she had a 30 minute set. She was the best DJ of the entire night (and that’s saying something because Hennes and Cold headlined that night) yet we didn’t see enough of her!

I also took some time out in the Bohem Lounge and chilled to the funky house tunes. Mark Dynamix does not get enough of a wrap these days. Mark played a special set also, it was unfortunate that there was something clearly wrong with either the needles or the speakers as most of the tracks played out crackly but either way track choice and mixing style was fantastic from Mark.

All in all I have to give both thumbs up to Slinky at Gas and I would definitely head off to Gas nightclub again in the future.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
