Hard dance fans where in for a treat with launch of the “Tidy” album last Friday night at Rise, mixed by the “King of Euphoric Hard Dance” Steve Hill, with support from Rise DJ’s Simon Barwood, John Paul, Big John and Lewis James.

Each time I visit Rise, the atmosphere only gets better, with projection screens now behind the DJ and along one of the walls, and within the last few months the addition of lasers, the look of the venue tonight was amazing. Arriving fairly early in the night assures you the chance to catch some of the very energetic Rise dancers, and tonight was no exception… I would never even attempt to try some of the moves they pull off!

Getting dragged on to the dance floor around midnight, Simon Barwood was up on the decks, slipping in some harder tunes to get the crowd warmed up for the night. Every week, Barwood is up there on the decks pumping out the latest tunes, and a few of the old classics, recently voted #25 in the inthemix 50, the crowd love this guy!

Next up was the Steve Hill, who’s been described as an “unstoppable ball of energy” and tonight was no exception, with the crowd responding to his every move with even more enthusiasm than the last tune.

Hill pulled out some nice hard tunes, that certainly got the crowd stomping, but he included tunes such as “Touch Me” which brought a somewhat magical atmosphere to the room, and a remix of “Happiness” by Tomcraft which always manages to get the crowd singing along.

Big John hit the decks next, with a slighty slower Hard NRG set to Hill, so with not much energy left to dance, it was time for me to leave the dance floor, wander around, and see what everyone else thought of the night. This was a big THUMBS UP from everyone I spoke to!

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
