It was day light and what a great day it was to hear some amazing local and international DJs at the one and only Transmission. As we walked up to the entrance in this unfamiliar venue, we had to cover our eyes as we were blinded from all the white, which looked spectacular as everyone had made an effort to dress up in the theme. As we were prepared to queue up in the line to enter we were amazed when there was no line and we waltzed straight in! As we entered we were almost bowled over by fairies, by white rabbits, spiderman and other crazy costumes. This venue was excellent, as we walked around to get ourselves comfortable we started off in the BanginMission arena where DJ Flipside and Mixxam were tearing it up. Sweat dripped off the walls in time to the beat as these guys played some mad tracks such as the Tiesto remix of “Adagio for Strings”. We were sweaty already and it was only 7pm, but of course this is the way you want it to be! Then the room got that little bit hotter, as we see the goddess Amber Savage and Nik Fish step up behind the decks for a killer of a set. These two knew what the crowd wanted as people were climbing on top of each other for a better view and a photo. They played “Attention” by Commander Tom and “Rhythms Divine” by Organ Donors, then off they disappeared to catch a plane to Melbourne, they definitely left us with an impression of that set in our minds! Heading out along the corridor, and still amazed at the turnout and the whiteness everywhere, I walked into the NuMission room to see DJ LOR and Onnit ripping it up. These two talented up and comers played some banging tunes and got the punters up and jumping to “Street Carnival” by Cave and the Cosmic Gate remix of ” Amun”. Then it got a bit hot inside so it was nice to be able to go outside to a chill out area where a big gum tree was lit – changing colours from purple to red, then green and blue – with a sea of white people chatting away with smiling faces! As it got packed and the night seemed to be going very smoothly the one and only mister DJ Scot Project graced the decks like a giant God above us. He was exactly what we had expected – incredible! – playing his tracks ” Overdrive”, ” Hands Up”, and his new track “L”, as the crowd went off with people taking photos of the DJ and producer. So very talented, and such a nice guy as well! Back to the NuMission room, and we have Dj Shaman and Dj LOR up again, with these two having a ball as they played some great tunes such as “Iguana”, which got the people in the room were bopping up and down to. Fists in the air, these two DJs were definitely enjoying their Transmission moment! Then racing back into the BanginMission room I had to see Kan Cold vs HellRaiser as these two guys were banging it out hard to an up and ready for it audience – the Transmission vibe was spreading! What a night we were all having as they dropped “In the Air”. I thought this venue is excellent, there is so much to see and so much to do, as random people were giving hi fives with excited looks on their faces, this night was about to end – but not completely… This new Transmission concept was exciting, as we all left and had an opportunity to freshen up, let our ears have a bit of a rest, have a chat about how good this Transmission really was, and then head off to the after party! After feeling like an angel in white for the whole night it’s now time to bring on Transmission Black! As we get double the fun, changing venues and themes is a great way of getting everyone more exited. It’s now time to prepare for Yoji and Blutonium Boy at the next one!
