This was the event to rival all events. The tidy boys hit town along with Lee Haslam and many other excellent DJ’s from Perth such as our own #1 ITM DJ Kenny L, #5 ITM DJ Riki, Kinetic and Mayhem, Jon Noonan and DJV. This was an absolutely cranking event and it was obvious a lot of effort had been put into planning it. Not just with the awesome line up but also with the lights, lasers and bubble machine. The atmosphere and support surrounding this night was amazing, a feeling that was reflected in conversation with others on the night; that such an event had been a long time coming.

When I arrived at Tidy the place was buzzing with excitement, the tunes were already well cranking, courtesy of the first people I saw on the decks at 12 am, DJ’s Kinetic vs Mayhem. You could feel the bass of their hard pumping back to back set; very banging and very heavy. An excellent set, listed below are just some of the tunes they played:

Kinetic -Unidentified Craft
Nick Rafferty & the coalitions – No other love (huge hard trance tune)
Caspers – Bass Heavy
Kam-Pain – Deadly Alliance

MAYHEM  later explained that they played a few tidy classics and then got into harder tunes like passion records and Do not bend records (karim). Although there were not too many people on the dance floor at this time they played an awesome set. Perhaps people thought these guys were a bit too heavy for this event. But thoroughly enjoyable nonetheless, well done guys!

After these boys had finished their set, our own #1 ITM DJ Kenny L graced us with his presence on the decks. Although a ot of people were there for the international guests, you could see the level of respect and number of fans that Kenny really has. He came on at about 1:30 am and started with the excellent trance tune that’s ever so popular at the moment, Breeze and Styles – You’re shining. Upon hearing this people rushed for the dancefloor to get amongst the action and enjoy their favourite DJ at work, (and the bubble machine)

DJ Kenny L’s mixing is just amazing; he really has progressed so much over the years. I really would be very proud of this event and the turn out as I know Kenny put so much effort and time to get this up and running smoothly. WELL DONE Kenny!!

Kenny even had the entire bar staff bouncing around and dancing whilst pouring drinks for the thirsty patrons. You’re Shining was an excellent way to open his set, a great intro and so many people seemed to love that song.

At this point I decided to venture up to the Ritual room to check out a few local acts, having been advised by a few people to especially check out DJ Jon Noonan and DJV. When I arrived in the Ritual room upstairs at about 1:40am the room was not all that busy but those there were bopping around to Jon Noonan’s set. Whilst not being able to name the tunes he played, as I didn’t get a play list off of him, I will say this, this boy certainly has potentional. And although as I said before the room was not all packed out, he certainly did the best with the support he had with everyone seeming happy with his set.

DJ Lanithium was the next DJ up in the Ritual room. He really is a DJ who is making his mark on the music scene. He came on at 2:00 am and was definitely rocking the Ritual Room with style. Some of the tunes he cranked out for us they were;

Alt – F4 – Alt F4 (Original remix)
Thomas Datt – 2 v 2 (Robert Nickson remix)
Mircode Govia – Voller Stern (Super8 Remix)
Whirlpool vs Octagen – Alaska (Filoe Peri Remix)
Super8 – Cre8 (original mix)
Global Interferance – Genesis
Matti Laamanen – Obsession (Luke Terry)
William Orbit – Barbers Adiagio For Strings (Ferry Corsten remix)

I definitely look forward to seeing this amazing DJ again.

Another DJ who rocked the Ritual Room was DJV; he came on around 2:45am and started his set with the track Miro – By Your Side (Ronsi speed mix); definitely a good song to open with. A few other tracks that he mixed were, Myth – Millionfold (nice melodic Trancer), Syndique – Lost Thought (Envio mix), Ocean – Sky Falls Down (Armin Van Burren mix). Everyone that I spoke to that had been in the Ritual Room for this set had been very impressed by this DJs skills.

Lee Haslam’s set I was told went absolutely off. Lee is known for being a damn good DJ as well as managing the Tidy Traxx label. I don’t actually have a list of the songs he mixed as I didn’t really get a chance to see him for long. I know though that even punters outside waiting to get in could hear his set and were all very amped up. It was great to see everyone in high spirits and also to see The Church packed out, so much support from people aged 18 to around 40 was excellent.

Clint Scott and Weavy played in the main area of The Church; I actually missed this set which I am regretting now as I spent most of my time in the Ritual Room. From what I have heard they played a very impressive set. There were also 4 people I haven’t given a mention to, so I shall do that before I start about the Tidy Boys. Dan Tran, Nato and Ziad and Riki, Guys I didn’t get to see your Sets although I’m sure they were wicked, (and we know yours always are Riki) I cannot review what I never heard. Sorry guys!

Ok last but not least is The Tidy Boys (Andy Pickles + Armadeus Mozart)

These boys are very, very well known in the DJ industry, Known for there amazing talent on the Decks as well as being the Founders of The Tidy Traxx label which is now one of the biggest Hard House labels in the world.

I haven’t got any of their songs written down but I can tell you now this set absolutely went off. The dance floor was definitely moving for this one. This is what everyone had been waiting for. So many people have wanted this event in Perth for so long and on this night it finally happened. We would love to see the boys make it back to our shores as soon as possible. So that those that missed out would be able to see them and all our other great DJ’s that attended.

A big well done to the organizers of this event, and for all the hard work and effort you guys took into making this a totally worthwhile event. Hopefully in the near future we are lucky enough to have another event like this.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
