“ONCE AGAIN WE’RE GONNA PUMP IT!”

...and that is precisely what the party pumpers who are Scotland’s Ultra-Sonic did! Friday the 26th November saw the return of Mallorca Lee, David Forbes and Chuck D to Rise nightclub following their explosive performance earlier this year.

The Friday night Rise massive went out in force, as we all knew that we would be in for a treat once again. The banging trance tunes came thick and fast prior to Ultra-Sonic’s 1am appearance behind the decks. All around the club smiling faces were abundant and old friends were reunited on the balcony.

Ultra-Sonic are of course one of hard dance and hardcore’s biggest names. Ultra-Sonic have released a greatest hits album which has been steadily leaving the shelves and entering the CD players of avid hardcore fans everywhere. The anticipation continued to reach towards boiling point until 1am…

People standing still were few and far between as the first beat rolled out from the speakers. Dancefloor real estate was at a premium and as ever a queue had formulated for the prized podium spaces. Ultra-Sonic moved through melodic yet hard and banging trance anthems during the first segment of their 3 hour slot. Where was the hardcore…?

The momentum increased as the needle was placed over “Traffic” by DJ Tiesto. This critically acclaimed number sent the floor into a hands-in-the-air flurry as the second segment of this Scottish dance tribe’s set neared. Harder, faster, louder…

Ultra-Sonic kept the crowd amping with their unique MC’ing style. A memorable moment of the night occurred when Chuck D counted the crowd to three to celebrate Perth and the atmospheric entity that is Rise… memories are always assured when these lads are around! Then the hardcore came!

Ultra-Sonic ripped up the floor in the last segment of their set with a series of euphoric and amping big room bangers. The floor flowed as one with the energy and the it was a wonder that the podiums didn’t collapse under the weight of the dancers on top of them. Who could forget the mayhem that ensued when “Street Carnival” by Cave was dropped back in Ultra-Sonic’s April appearance? They dropped it again, much to the tremendous appreciation of the Rise massive.

“ONCE AGAIN WE’RE GONNA PUMP IT!”

Just as April’s event was a truly memorable occasion, so was this one. Ultra-Sonic left the decks in the more than capable control of John Paul, the reception that they received was immense and justly so!

The performance wasn’t the only justification for such applause… The announcement was made that Simon Barwood had personally ensured that Ultra-Sonic would appear at Rise for our raving pleasure following complications with the event organisers. From his own pocket, Simon Barwood brought Ultra-Sonic over to the West coast and for this we extend our immeasurable gratitude. Molto benne grazzie, molto benne !

John Paul played out until 6am giving us a taste of what to expect at the Rise Fifth Birthday celebrations, spinning some lovely trance to match the just as lovely sunrise. Smiles on the dials of every punter on the floor and on the way out from the venue and why the heck not when we had been spoilt completely rotten via an incredibly kind gesture from one Simon Barwood. Thanks again Simon and thanks again Rise!

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
