I arrived at Arq nightclub at around 10pm to find Pedro behind the decks doing his ‘thang’. Nice uplifting tunes to start off the night. By the end of his set Pedro really set it up for Snow Pea and Micky D to follow.
The tunes got very hard, very quickly with Snow Pea and Micky D. Plenty of hardcore grooving going on and as a result there was a lots of obvious energy on the dance floor. Micky played very punchy tracks that had the crowd really moving. Micky’s track selection was well thought out and really brought it out with some truly brilliant uplifting tunes and all out hard tracks.
It was then Steve Hill’s turn to grace the decks for the night. Steve’s unmistakable style and track selection cannot be surpassed. Some of the tracks played were Steve Hill vs Technikal – Ecstacy, Rob Tissera vs Quake – The Day Will Come, Masif DJs – Reachin (Edison Factor Mix) and Beam – Odin. Steve is nothing short of mesmerising. I, and I’m certain many others would agree, that Steve’s energy is all-out intoxicating.
Yoshi was up next and kept the night soaring. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire night from beginning to end and I could tell all other punters were in agreement. And I’ll say this every time; I love Arq as a venue. With the stage having been extended out further than normal a few punters felt the urge to become podium dancers so after a few too many drinks people got up and shook their bums at the crowd. Quite amusing and quite funny to watch
Frantic never fails to bring great djs, quality music along with a friendly crowd and atmosphere all together in the one place. Don’t miss the next episode of Frantic!
