When a highly respected international DJ tours Australia you already have in your mind that they aren’t going to disappoint, and they usually don’t. When they return to do it all again, it’s something special. Lisa Lashes was no exception to the rule. The whole set was blissful and it was nothing less than hard!

There was no doubt that her title ‘the queen of hard house’ lived up to the crowd expectations and that it is most deserving. When asking the crowd of what they thought of Lisa Lashes, one particular person said that they had traveled all the way across the world just to be here and listen to their favourite DJ. Indeed that was an eye opener to the reputation that Lisa Lashes has developed internationally.

Nothing short of a top class performance, as the advanced DJ skills that have made Lashes become a respected name in hard dance all over the world was used to generate a continuous, fast-paced, high energy environment. Evidence of her seamless beats and breaks mixing skills were shown throughout her whole set in Voodoo. In some ways influencing the tempo and leaving the crowd with a sweet residue of European beats while maintaining a glossy touch of modern hard house.

Lashes laid down her refined touch on crowd favourites by using the EQs and volume to the extreme. The boundaries of hard dance were pushed with a perfect mix of Bush’s ‘Glisterine’, giving the people of Sydney a taste of the latest international hard house. One person I spoke to said that this was “even more awesome” than her recent trip to Ibiza and going to some of the bigger outdoor clubs there and that she enjoyed the whole two hours of Lashes’s set immensely. Other people thought a two hour set was relatively short for a DJ with such an international reputation and were hoping for even another hour or two of Lashes’s hard house magic.

The visual display continued to showcase all throughout the night and although the sound was a little blurred at times, it was hardly noticeable and took nothing away from the whole experience of the night. As Lashes continued to dish out some of the finest mixes that have been heard at Sublime, the dance floor erupted even more with the help of MC Destiny.

After a short break it was then upstairs to Beat-Fix for Lashes, where the brief taste of beats and breaks that were heard downstairs were explored even more and with the help of MC Losty and the other Beat-Fix crew, the room kept raging towards the end of the night. I Hope Lisa Lashes returns again soon, to lash out some more of her awesome magic.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
