I wandered in around midnight to find the Laundry was only just warming up. I chilled out to some smooth jazzy house courtesy of John Devecchis while enjoying a drink in the back room, waiting while the place filled up. Over in the Cave, The Impossible were doing a good job of getting everyone ready, with a nice interesting blend of tracks and rhymes. They weren’t just sticking to breaks either and played quite a few 4/4 tracks. Koma & Bones - Get Down was quickly followed by Dopamine - Zoit with what was either the genuine acapella or a very good imitation by Forey of Kanye West’s Gold Digger.

A bit more wandering and chilling around the packed venue revealed a good mix of punters, before I ended up back in the cave around 2.05 where I was sure to remain for the rest of the night. Terry was back behind the decks looking every bit the hooligan getting the crowd in the mood with the second Dopamine tune of the night Kiss My Break which he’s soon to release on Menu Music. A few other Menu tunes got a spin including the very wicked recent release, J-Cat – Good Times.

The Cave was as packed as it’s ever been and the crowd was lapping it up. Watching Terry behind the decks he looked cool, collected and totally in control. With tight mixing and a great sense of what tracks to drop and when he has the dancefloor eating out of the palm of his hand. His awesome scratching skills also make for a great addition to the music, Terry a self-professed hip-hop addict.

As the two hour set built to a climax he started letting the big Atomic Hooligan tracks out of the bag including both sides of the terrific Lust One More/Head 12’ both of which went down a treat with the crowd as did the classic AH remix of Born Slippy. The Stantons take on Feel Good Inc also got a look in followed by Spin Spin Saccharin and then some hip-hop in the form of Jay-Z’s 99 Problems.

When 4.00am rolled by it caught me totally off guard, it felt like I’d only been on the dancefloor for an hour or less and looking around I don’t think I was the only one. Time certainly does fly when you’re having fun. Regardless he closed the set expertly leaving only a single punter trying to start a chant for more, everyone else was content to leave, feeling hopefully like I did, totally satisfied with the experience.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
