As some of you may or may not of heard or read…  I was lucky enough to do the review for the last interview party and I had a fun time…  This time round, the word that comes into my head to explain Interview 3 was simply “happy”.

Rocking up at about 12am, I was greeted at the door by none other than resident and interview organiser Ben Evans. How many times have you rocked up to a club and had this happen to you?  None that I can recall for myself.  Julesplees was rocking it behind the decks and the dancefloor was loving it! If you have seen Jules play you know what I mean, the crowd interaction, the classic tunes, it’s all there! Bullet In The Gun was a highlight…

Next up, downstairs was Julien Reynolds, dropping Chab – Closer To Me as his first track kept the vibe doing. Julien’s chunky, housey, proggy sound has fast become a favourite of Melbourne clubbers and tonight was no different.  Time to move upstairs and listen to a versus set by Matt and Jeremy K. Playing more a progressive trance set, the sounds were smooth as.

Now back to happy for the moment…  from the moment I was greeted by Ben at the door, to the time I left, everyone was smiling and having a great time. This is a big call but I must say that I have never been to an event where the crowd has been so friendly!  Next up was Ben himself. Lifting the tempo up a bit, but still playing some smooth trance. Ben continued on the theme of making the crowd dance, and it was hard to stay still when he was playing.

At about 4am I went downstairs to talk to some mates and noticed someone setting up a table containing a laptop and mixer. Little did I know that in a few mins he would be pushing out some of the freshest and best trance I have ever heard. His name was Blinky and he was the highlight of the night for me. Playing live using Ableton, he set was just gorgeous. He played all his own tracks with some familiar vocals played over them. Outstanding stuff, look out for him and I suggest if you like your trance you MUST see him play.  Big thanks to the Interview crew again, I can’t wait for the next one!

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
