As a frequenter to Rude Bwoyz events over the past three years, I felt very fortunate to write my review on this event. Luckier still I didn’t have to drive down from the sunshine coast to catch all the DnB madness. I finally came to my senses and moved into the city and now only had to walk a few hundred meters to catch arguably the best DnB event in Brisbane.

As stated I am Rude Bwoyz fan from way back and, went to the ends of the earth to attend it monthly. Rude Bwoyz for those that didn’t know, pretty much single handedly brought the DnB scene back to Brisbane. And continued on to make it the dominating force it is now, almost to the saturation point. Alas Brisbane has settled down and the DnB Scene is at a more comfortable level to be apart of, and Rude Bwoyz is still at the forefront.

I guess the heart of Rude Bwoyz is Operon, with Erther providing the Back Bone. And the other listed DJs over the years providing the arms and legs. However Operon and Erther have stuck by their event and paid their dues and it seems like all the hard work is about to pay off. With Operon dropping his track ‘Rock Sex’ earlier this year, and he has continued his production desires, ever since.

Onto the night, starting the night by walking in on Erther’s set; I was instantly full of glee. I bought my drink took in aural delights and scoped the crowd. I say the crowd was an even mix of Rude Bwoyz virgins and DnB misers. Which gave the Shamrock a friendly atmosphere, the young crowd kept the dance floor buzzing early on with the oldies pacing ourselves better for the long night ahead.

The Shamrock is an ideal venue to hold a monthly party. While it doesn’t have the murky atmosphere of the Empire, or spectacle of Family, at the end of the day everyone could get a drink, have dance, and indulge in the DJs we came to hear.

The DJs themselves have showed dedication to their art and music genre over the years. Subsequently whenever you come to witness Operon or Erther at an event you’re likely to hear some of the best to spin DnB in the world. They keep their mixes varied, mixing between dance floor bangers, to smooth chilled (or as chilled as DnB gets) tunes for those that came for listening pleasure only. And at no time do either sound a like or generic, their sets seem original every time, never sounding the same twice.

Another successful party courtesy of Rude Bwoyz, at an adequate venue, and taking in a friendly atmosphere. Yep I left happy and walked only a few meters back to home.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
