Destination? has been steadily gaining momentum as one of Perth’s best breaks nights and this is being reflected by its dedicated followers, consistently packing Ambar out at the Friday night shows. Destination? is raising the standards with their innovative approach to dj-ing and events.
Friday 22nd of September was no different with the Destination? crew once again putting on a show to remember.
This month Destination? welcomed the help of special guests from SheMoves Pole Dance Fitness Studios. Whilst there was some disappointment that Dopamine failed to deliver on his promise of a podium dance at the August Destination? the SheMoves girls transformed Ambar, with the aid of their platform, into something reflecting a burlesque club!
The night began with Markey featuring Easy on guitar followed by the funky sounds of Beux who was accompanied by the masters of the brass Hey Hey and Bones.
Not too long into Beaux’s set the dancers one by one took to the pole and got the dance floor sizzling with their sensational moves, keeping the crowd captivated. To everyone’s surprise and admiration Beux did not miss a beat and seemed to keep focused on the music. This set was the perfect lead up set to Prizzy featuring Redskin doing his thing on Percussion.
Party starter Prizzy has had a good month, fresh from supporting the likes of Dopamine, Jono Fernandez and Meat Katie, he did not disappoint with his frenetic movements behind the decks and dropping party tunes from Dopamine “Hold You” to Elite Force’s “Heart of Darkness”.
Jumping onto the decks at 1:30am were Signal Drivers with their last performance before taking their show East to Melbourne. Opening with “clap your – no hands” the dance floor was packed and everyone at fever pitch. A typical demonstration of Signal Drivers scatching and one of the highlights of the night was the beat juggle of Jim Shimmer “The Escape”. Also featured as some of the big tunes of the set were Nils Noah “stereo style” and Signal Drivers own “Widgety dub feat Dlux”. Signal Drivers were joined for much of their set by the haunting sounds of Brad on Didgeridoo and Isham on Vocals.
Next cab off the rank was KarlSav featuring the sounds of Rythmn Sticks on Percussion, with a brand new stomping dancefloor track of KarlSav’s own called “Funkenstein”. Off the top he opened with “Funkenstein” and rumors are now rife that Dopamine and many others are already itching to get their hands on this track. As always the set was seamless and highlights were Deekline and Wizard’s remix of “Dip and Get Low” which made the crowd go crazy! Throwing in for good measure a little cheese such as “the bomb” bootleg.
The party did not wind down til after Loose Screwz stepped off the decks and once again Destination? was a mustn’t-be-missed event on the monthly calendar.
