With almost every establishment holding a dedicated NYE shin dig, club managers had to really go the extra mile if they were going to pull any sort of sizeable crowd on the biggest party night of the year. Yu did exactly that, putting on an excellent night for under half the price most other clubs or events were charging.

The main drawcard was Jo Mills, playing a hefty 3 hour plus set, which had the whole floor heaving and showing Sydney just why she holds the fearsome reputation that she does (voted ’#1 Electro DJ’ in Ibiza for the 2006 summer season). After the customary count down to welcome in the New Year, the punters continued to dance well into 2007, only entering back out to the streets long after the massive crowds had dispersed. Who better to have launch us into the New Year than Jo, with her sexy percussive sound creating dancefloor mayhem throughout the night. It’s no wonder she’s one of Pete Tong’s favourite DJs.

Warm ups from Telefunken, Tony Venturo and Ember, as well as the Nitty Gritty DJs (aka Tom Da Silva and Ben Kelly) must also get honourable mentions for setting the groove of the night. After all, it wasn’t just Jo who made the dancefloor move. Thanks to Yu for a great unpretentious night of partying, without the crowds and fuss of many other events. Happy New Year to you all!
