The time was 11:55, come on! Dart was playing his last tune, the 90’s remix of SWV ‘maybe there can be some insecurities’. Wow that actually took me back to my school days, I love it when tunes do that. The club was still pretty quite at this point & the main group of people were milling around the bar & at the edge of the dance floor. Yet I could feel it in my bones that the night was going to be a good one & sussed out the best viewing & dance space for the fat beats that were to come.

Greg Packer & Xsessiv MC were next in line for the 12-1 & Packer sure got things pumping for the main act of the night. As he played ‘You gotta get down’, 2 random dudes jumped on the dance floor & began to shock out in style. Good on you guys, you could see that people were almost on the floor yet were waiting for someone to make the first move as it were!

Makoto made his way to the open stage at this point & checked out the crowd from behind the decks while Greg Packer played on top form with the mumblings of Xsessiv. The dancing duo continued & slowly a crowd started to gather in the arena, I too couldn’t stop bubbling along to the sounds of the Drum & Bass. Perth needs more of it, the sounds of the glorious underground. At around 12:30 the beautiful Deeizm made her way to the stage & you could just feel the good time vibe.

1am approached & the party people were ready, Deeizm was set & Makoto let Go!! Wahoo, I was so excited & Deeizm soon had a crowd of ‘puppy boys’ looking up at her from the front centre. The place was hot & the girls in the place were the leaders with the moves to the D & B sounds, rhythm & style were all around. Deeizm slipped off her heavy sweater & tied her hair back ready to go with her angelic vocals.

Makoto played his rendition of the earlier played SWV tune, yet he played through with the original Michael Jackson version which Deeizm than sang the chorus too with unbelievable ease & clarity. It sounded even better than those girls from back in the 90’s when they released it! As the time just seemed to fly by as it does when you are having so much fun, Makoto then let rip with ‘Will we ever get out of here’ the crowd loved it.

It was unfortunate that the equipment crashed twice, yet I put that down to Makoto cranking up the sounds, he clearly bumped it up a level as soon as he hit the decks. He had a great mix of the old skool brand new & blended the reggae well with his production. Makoto & Deeizm make a great team & compliment each other well. There were lots of smiles & she cheekily had a little flick on the cross fader while Makoto was selecting the next tune! She’s such a cutie.

Finishing off with a little dance with a chick from the side of the stage, Deeizm gave us a courtesy & bigged up her musical companion Makoto. It was nice to see them having a blast taking their own photos of the crowd & playing over time to the delights of the heavyweights, mainly the girls, sorry boys!

I can’t wait for them to visit again & a back to back with Bukem & Conrad would be the ultimate climax for me!
