Wei Shen is due to play at The Bedroom so I am starting the weekend right by getting my booty in the place to watch him start. Ash Tobia is on the decks when I descend into The Bedroom to find it more packed than usual due to most of the Bond University students all being there at once. Ash has the crowd in hyper mode already in the warm up to Wei Shen, and The Bedroom is cranking at 11:30pm. All the talk of Wei Shen suggests he has a cult following, so I was interested to see if the proof is in the pudding. Some delicious opening tracks were played by Wei Shen with the stand out a clone of the old Jack’s Groove, which sounds like Creflo A. Dollar mid rant.

Another sped-up hip hop to house remix played was Insane in the Membrane by Cypress Hill, the Dr Remix I have spoken about in the last few reviews and a few other funky tracks. A cool moment was an air raid siren being cross faded while a track was playing in the lead up to him mixing in Monster by The Automatic.

The ladies only area with its own pole at The Bedroom was full of girls shaking it as I made my way around the club. The girls get looked after really well at The Bedroom with complimentary perfume and make up along with other goodies on Ladies Night, held on Thursdays. Wei Shen got my vote, and lives up to his reputation as a crowd pleaser. I had not had the pleasure of checking out one of his sets previously. Funky house is how I would describe Wei Shen’s set, and with house, house and more house how could he do wrong? Gerry Morales a resident at The Bedroom was wrapping the night up when I left and taking the crowd through to close at 5am.
