Limelite at Metropolis, Fremantle – usually these are the only ingredients you need for a good night out. Throw in a German superstar fresh from an American summer, and you’re in for one hell of a night. Metropolis had a reported 900 punters through the door ready to party to the big electro beats of Beatport’s 2008 ‘Best Electro Artist’ nominee Klaas. But they would have to wait, as resident DJ Zelimir would first entertain the crowd with his entertaining onstage antics and dropping some of the main summer pleasers namely Show Me Love (Safari Remix).
Klaas came on to an instant crowd response. The best way to describe the set is like a surgeon working with a chain saw, with all the precision you’d come to expect from a top German artist but also, Klaas working like a psychopath with a giant chainsaw, tearing the place to shreds with absolute control. Huge vocals and massive electro beats. Renowned for his unique electro style, he dropped some of his classic tunes including This Time, Space and Show You The Way, which made the crowd go wild. Klaas had the 900 strong dance floor cranking and screaming for more, and the two-hours allocated just wasn’t enough. Overall, Klaas was a class act and if he was given the chance, would have had the venue heaving until the break of dawn.
