Disco Mafia from onelove in Melbourne are before me at The Bedroom, and as yet another act I have never seen before they’ve got me curious as to what they have to offer. Hess & Miles Junior’s set begins with a stampede to the floor by punters being pierced by needle-like beams of light coming from the lighting array ,suspended in the darkness of The Bedroom’s roof. The first notable thing with Disco Mafia it there total mash up of tracks, which has me guessing what is actually coming next, as I keep getting thrown off the mix with partial drops of one track after another. This is the pleasing part of mash mixes, as they cover a huge volume of tracks in the one set.

All you need is one good old anthem dropped to set a room and fire and Beachball by Nalin & Kane did the trick. Disco Mafia displayed the ability to feed the crowd exactly what they wanted from start to finish of their set, and teamed with their mash-o-matic style, this resulted in the epitome on entertainment by a DJ act.

With the acceleration in intensity of the tracks building towards the close of their set, Disco Mafia were zapping punters with their pleasure wand via the clubs sound system. I have checked out a few Disco Mafia remixes since Sunday and they are worth getting your ears into, and this recommendation goes double for DJs!
