Patch should go away and come home more often ‘cause there needs to be more parties like this one! Great vibe all night is I have to say. I find it’s rare to go out these days and really gel with a crowd of people, but last night showed that there is still a love of music in Adelaide – not just a love of dolling up in your best short skirt and fluoro and going out! Although I’m sure any crowd would enjoy $3.50 base spirits – which made the music sound even better!
Jon Doe played some awesome tunes to get the night started, however I do sympathise with him: it was the emptiest I’ve ever seen the dance-floor with him being the DJ! Yet again Adelaide is living up to its reputation of going out late, staying out very early! But Filter and Fiction – awesome stuff! This is where the dance floor started to pick up. Awesome industrial sounds and techy beats over the whole night! And although all three of these guys dropped some jungle, it is very clear that tech-step is very much the in style of DnB at present.
I hardly noticed the change over from the F2 DJs above to rit:locus from the UK. Knowing Bristol to give rise to a very distinct sound, I was hoping that I’d hear a bit more trip-hop elements thrown in there. Alas, Bristol has obviously moved on a little more than i would have hoped… I’m still living in the 90s… But can you blame me? And then… Patch… THE FLOOR WAS SWAMPED! If you were there and weren’t dancing, it’s cause you were either a) Blind drunk, b) a member of staff, c) smoking outside.
Wicked tunes, wild moves, and wacky grooves. I managed to stay until 4am… At that point the inner nanna was poking me with her cane telling me to go home, 12 or so vodkas later! Hope to see some of you at HQ again soon for some DnB – loved it!
