Craig Obey is a living legend in the Australian dance music industry, and he delivered a “smack the taste out of your mouth” session at The Bedroom last weekend. Taking control of the Technics turntables, Pioneer CDJ1000s and DJM1000 digital mixer, Craig started the magic and the light show lit up punters as the BPM was on the rise.

Craig Obey must have been itchy, as from out of nowhere he begun scratching to his house beats. It had jaws on the floor! A real standout from all the DJs I see, it’s a rarity to see someone with such technical talent in the house and electro scene. The sound system defiantly go a workout during Craig’s set, as I have a sneaking suspicion the amps were turned up a tad. How’d I work this out? As a result of my vibrating internal organs! The clarity of sound was still perfect, however, the bass like an acoustic full-body massage.

Craig Obey is no doubt one of the busiest men in the dance scene, with a hectic production, remix and gig schedule. Remixes have been turned in for Ministry Of Sound, and he took the oldie-but-a-goodie ‘Under The Milky Way’ and made it his own a few years back. He added to the track’s perfection, and it has Craig in demand globally as a producer. Pleasure was abundant on the faces of punters throughout Craig’s set, with positive radiations sent out through the speakers. Another great night!
