Llik Llik Llik has left Bar 32 and found a new home at Transit, earning rave reviews on its Friday night debut.
After a spontaneous set change, Bruisa took the decks first, pushing out solid energetic electro tunes. Bruisa was in synch with the crowd and produced smooth changes and great builds (a harmonica even entered the mix).
Next Gabe changed it up and moved into the tech-house sounds to a steadily filling venue. The bass rocked through the walls and the beat picked up as the crowd started to move its feet and the alcohol flowed over the bar.
Alex Mcleod really got the punters moving and let the disco take over the crowd, throwing in some awesome tech-house for good measure. Next up, Alex Nicko played to a packed dancefloor and brought out the progressive techno and tech-house, flowing through the limbs of almost everyone in Transit – bar staff included.
Biggie brought the ‘Bush to Transit’ and his set was the clear crowd favourite. His enthusiasm alone would have dominated the room, but the real showstopper was the didgeridoo blending with Biggie’s minimal-tech and tech-house style. Mitch was “wicked” on the didg. After making a cameo during Gabes’ set, he lifted the roof with Biggie. And the remarkable thing was that it was totally unrehearsed. Biggie and Mitch had one jam session the Tuesday prior to the Transit gig; it was all off the cuff and they let the beat take over. Mitch and Biggie plan to make it a regular gig and aim to bring in more instruments. The clackers are next up!
Bruisa started and ended the night to a solid crowd with more electro beats. Few were still in their seats, myself included. Bruisa’s infectious tunes finished the night on a high note and many are sure to return for what Transit hopes to make a regular event.
