To celebrate the ITM50, Australia’s favourite music website decided to throw a few parties around the country so all the punters who didn’t get invited to the VIP awards night didn’t feel left out. Ambar was the venue for the first of the parties, with Frisk having their turn in two weeks, then Limelite finishing it off a week later. The punters were handed a choice grade line-up, with a fine selection of local boys and one Sydney legend to fill it out.

Kicking things off was man-of-many-talents Lok, who had the unenviable task of opening the evening to punters whose number could be counted on two hands. There seemed to be more focus on the pool table rather than the tunes, which was a shame as Lok played some perfect loungey house vinyl to get things moving. Swimming in and out of some dreamy Balearic disco was the perfect way to start the night. Before long, more punters started rapidly arriving and it was time to get the party started. The four-four rapidly gave way to some ol’ school breaks, which went down a treat, with the tracks having the desired effect of migration to the dancefloor.

After getting the young and energetic crowd moving early, Lok made way for Prizzy, with the vinyl making way for CDJs and the breaks for electro-house. Dropping an early and quite unexpected remix of The Church’s ‘80s hit Under The Milky Way Tonight, Prizzy kept it upbeat but restrained. The kids were moving and shaking just in time for the arrival of the headliner.

Coming in at number 13 on the ITM50, Goodwill seems to fly under the radar a little bit out west, but he has been a big player in the Aussie scene for the better part of a decade. From Ministry Of Sound to OneLove, Goodwill has played pretty much every recognised club night in Oz, and he doesn’t look like he’ll be slowing any time soon. With the crowd pumped and raring to go, Goodwill took control of the decks and had party electro banging out in no time. Playing some local Oz tracks from Dirty South and The Aston Shuffle, mixed in with Swedish House Mafia and other assorted electro goodies, Goodwill certainly was sharing the goodness with all in attendance. And that’s exactly why he’s so far up the ITM50.
