When Inbound throw a party, it’s always destined to be an unforgettable night and with the one like Survival from the UK, I knew I was in for a treat. The event was held in the main room of Channel, and I was happy to hear this, as it meant enough room to dance, socialize and move! It was also good to also see some drink specials at a DnB show, as there’s been a significant lack of this lately.
Survival is the founder of the Audio Tactics label in the UK. His releases feature a deep and organic sound that has contributed to him being considered one of the pioneers of modern drum n’ bass. He has also collaborated on a number of releases with such names as D-Bridge, Alix Perez and Break, and has featured on the popular Hard Times and Dreamthief LPs, as well as the Dominion and Zenith EPs.
After spending my day at Day at the Park immersed in electro, house and breaks, I was looking forward to a treat of deep rolling drum n bass. I arrived as up ‘n’ comer LP from the Barossa was on the decks warming up to the madness to follow. Following him was Troub9L who played a set of smooth dark rolling goodness. Leading up to the man of the night was Moment & Filter, who both delivered rocking sets of deep dark dancefloor goodness.
Then was the time for the badman Survival. I saw a lot of crew I hadn’t seen out for ages run to the floor as he dropped the first tune. He continued to smash tune after tune, dropping old, recent and upcoming tunes from DNAudio, Quarantine and Audio Tactics. Survival kept the dancefloor going throughout the night, and from the looks on the punters faces did not disappoint with his mixing, tune selection and style.
Patch & Fiction finished off the night to a lot of happy faces. The Inbound crew proved, once again, that their parties never disappoint. Can’t wait for the next installment!
