There aren’t many words that can adequately describe this gig, so I’ll keep it short and concise.

DNBBQ is one of the few events I’ll even consider leaving my house at 6pm for. Because I know they cook better than I do, and the food is free. Delicious potato bake, salads, chick peas, chewy beef… What more could you ask for?

Beyond that, there’s also always amazing music. The smaller room was bangin’ from early evening onwards – DJ Aru managed to get those already into the vibe thoroughly hot and sweaty with some incredible beats (I was a bit confused about mixing in Nelly Furtado, though…) and, without meaning to, I managed to stay in the side room most of the night getting my dance on, while punters stood idly watching the slightly less energetic main stage taking in the vibe of Kingtide Soundsystem and Kingfisha, or staking their claim on a table on the Manning Bar balcony.

As we’ve seen before on occassion, the main stage felt slightly sad, with few people daring to dance until acts like The Nomad started pumping out Pendulum and, well, songs that also sounded just like Pendulum. Thankfully, by that stage my friend and I had become overwhelmed by the night and so didn’t feel guilty about sitting out the songs we’d normally rage out to – “well it’s not actually Pendulum, so I guess it’s not so bad?”

Eventually it got too hot, hectic and spacey to be in the side room, and only the seriously energy-aided were able to stick it out. Many had stayed on the balcony all night – a several hour marathon. By the time Foreigndub came to kick us all out with a wind-down set, we were pretty keen to wind down anyway, and went home to watch Speedracer (yes!).

So, another sweet night of DnB from the much loved Foreigndub crew. May they never end.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!

are you serious? I was looking forward to this review after being there and having seen the Nomad in action... He was one of the best dj's i've ever seen! A friend who i took along who had never even heard of him agreed - and he's been partying for at lea

jaded, possibly. i'm not saying it wasn't good. i love pendulum. but honestly, a lot of the tracks towards the end of the set followed the same lines, had extremely similar samples, top notes and bass drops, and just seemed to me like a pretty intense con

remorse accepted! Still, you say it all sounded the same towards end of set - but really, how far can you go in an hour set without it being confusing

blame the mod. anyway, i guess we have come to a conclusion that the nomad is awesome, and i should pace myself earlier in the night so i'm not one of those lame people on the balcony admiring the lights and the trees and being confused by the music insi

Agree with tios - Nomad was superb... it was like two gigs - main room more dubby/reggae/hiphop flava, side room for the banging dnb. But for my tastes the main did it, especially the Nomad... Yeh what is that Intergalactic version- FC Kahuna drop it in a

I just thought he played it at super slow speed, bringing the key down and all so it sounded warped...
