The first weekend of Sony inthemix50’s national club tour started with a bang in Perth, lifting off at underground night club Ambar, with our WA made superstar Micah playing with the likes of Marty McFly, Damian John and Ben Mac. Having had the extreme pleasure of seeing these guys on various occasions, I knew I would not be disappointed, so even though it was freezing outdoors, I made the trek into the basement, to get warmed up by the heavy bass below.

Local Marty McFly got the incoming crowd going, building up the excitement, but definitely bringing the crowd to the dance floor for the some pre-party, partying. Nice and up-tempo, but nothing too serious, yet very solid and tight in its own right.

By the time Micah got onto the decks, the club was full, people were nice and tipsy, and everyone seemed to be dancing, or shuffling on the spot. Micah’s great selection of four to the floor beats and breaks, got everyone going, with everyone bobbing and shaking and enjoying themselves. For good measure, a couple of times Micah took us back to the early days of raving, with a few old-school remixes to get some of the older folk feeling nostalgic. Overall a very energetic set, the mixing was what you expect of someone of Micah’s calibre.

It’s hard to fault the crowd at Ambar. Without a doubt it is one of the most devoted, fun loving crowd in the Perth club scene. It is full of patrons who love the music and are there to have a great time. The energy of the club is always electric, and you can’t help but see people laughing, carrying on, dancing, and having a great time. The inthemix50 party was no exception, with the dance floor packed from the word go, as well as overflowing through most of the club. The only people sitting were the ones too tired from the dancing, and they didn’t/couldn’t sit for long.

Overall it was a great start to the inthemix50’s club tour. Micah did WA proud, and it’s hard to see the guy not getting voted one of Australia’s best djs. Once again, the crew at Ambar, kept me from sleeping until the early hours of the morning, but that’s definitely not a complaint.

Nobody has hearted this, be the first Be the first!
