The Sony inthemix50 tour raged into Limelite, Freemantle for its third leg and with notorious party animals Timmy Trumpet and Tenzin co-headlining, the stage was set for a very enjoyable evening. The two young bucks have been working hard, playing clubs from Ibiza to Singapore and London and pretty much every venue of note in Australia. With neither being able to be pigeon-holed by any particular genre, it was always going to be interesting to see what the two young scallywags had in store.
Kicking things off to and already sizeable crowd, the evergreen Zelimir got things moving with some up front tech house to set the scene for the evening. After the girls had had their first champagne and the boys their first couple of beers, the dancefloor started warming up to the tunes of one of Perth’s true DJ statesmen. Zelimir gives 100% every set and his energy behind the decks is always nothing short of infectious.
But tonight was always going to be about TT & T and the boys were looking their Bruno best in matching black and white singlets (even though it was about 5 degrees outside). Bringing in some heavier beats and jacked up bass lines, the pair were animated as they slammed down some great party mixing on the CDJs. Throwing down a nice selection of commercial dance tracks, it wasn’t long before we got to see why Timmy Trumpet is so named. No longer content to hide in the shadows of The Stafford Brothers, Timmy has broken out on his own and gave the show his own unique touch by blasting some melodies out on his ‘electro trumpet’.
The young crowd loved it each time he climbed on the decks to blow his horn and the loudest reaction was, as to be expected, when he pumped out his own little Daft Punk rendition. The crowd was positively packed at this stage with the podium in the middle of the dancefloor overflowing like a little human waterfall with eager dancers. Finishing their set just shy of three and a half hours, the lads left everyone exhausted after their impressive party set and one wondering where the night had gone.
Another fabulous addition to the Sony inthemix50 tour and it’s truly not surprising the Limelite crew are expanding North on their quest to dominate the dancefloors of Perth.
