The Q-Dance team were at it again on Saturday night with the much anticipated X-Qlusive Technoboy show rolling into Sydney.
Outside the Hordern Pavilion excited punters snapped up the remaining tickets ensuring a sold out event. The popularity of Hardstyle in Sydney has been on the rise with more events being organised by the promoters and internationals coming to our shores on a regular basis.
On the night Technoboy was joined by many of his closest friends to celebrate 10 years of Hardstyle producing/Dj’ing by the man known by his fans as “the doctor”.
Dr Willis began the night with some tough tech-trance. The up-for-it partygoers were already beginning to show off there own versions of the two-step on the spacious dancefloor the Hordern Pavillion offers. The DJ booth was decorated with the initials XQ and was enshrined on a stage surrounded by two massive video screens, adding to extravaganza of the Q-Dance team show.
Italian Hardstyle princess Stephanie was greeted by warm applause by the ever growing crowd. Her track selection and mixing skills was fantastic and her enthusiasm behind the decks was most impressive. Blending hardstyle anthems with some hard-trance she pleased the crowd with tracks like Binary Finary’s 1998, Tiesto’s “Lethal industry” and Scott Project ‘s Overdrive.
Next up – the man who’s pioneered the sound of Hardstyle for 10 years – the fashionable Technoboy took to the stage dressed in a stunning suit. MC Ruffian introduced him to the crowd making sure they gave him the reception he deserved. Before getting behind the decks Technoboy walked around the catwalk with his beautiful selection of models who were parading a new fashion label. Blasting glitter in the air the ladies continued to walk the catwalk and pose as Technoboy launched into his solo set opening with Double Dutch Darkie. His energy behind the decks was awesome bopping up and down to his own music. The night was well and truly hitting its peak as the laser show was now in full swing.
After Technoboy’s solo set he teamed up with Tuneboy to give us some of there own selection of Hardstyle classics. The crowd went nuts when they played War machine and the way they worked together behind the decks was a pleasure to watch. It was obvious these guys have worked together before as they fed of each other brilliantly and kept the crowd entertained with there antics during there set.
Unfortunately I couldn’t stay for the remainder of the night but did stay long enough to hear one of my favourite Hardstyle tracks at the moment, Hardstyle Masterz Loudness. All in all it was another brilliant production by the Q-Dance team. Special mention to the MC’ing of MC Ruffian – by far the best MC i’ve heard for a while. His crowd surfing during the Headhunterz set was another highlight.
