When Kissy Sell Out was announced to play at Lot 33 in Canberra alongside local boys the Aston Shuffle, everyone knew it was going to be a big one. Arriving extremely late to the club, the place was already pumping to the electronic beats of Kissy. The place was packed and the line was not moving, with everyone desperate to get in.

Finally inside, the club was full of punters, shuffling their feet to the pounding soundsystem. With Lot 33 being such a small club, you could feel the vibrations of the music on the ground, increasing the atmosphere in the club to an amazing high.

Having seen the UK DJ at Warehouse 2009, I had high expectations for the night and he surely did not disappoint. Kissy Sell Out’s entire set was full of fast and upbeat tempos and even when he slowed it down, the beat ensured that the kids never stopped dancing.

A definite highlight in the set was when Kissy put his own spin on Fake Blood’s Mars. Leaving the original intro, Kissy got the crowd excited with the familiar beats before remixing it with his own style. As Kissy is renowned for his remixes as well his own material, the entire set was a mix of well-known tracks as well as some awesome bass.

Kissy’s set ran early into the morning and the crowd and the vibe did not let up at all. The man definitely made an impact on the Kingston club and those who could remember the night, surely remembered a good one.
