Brisbane’s The Family is voted as one of the best nightclubs in Australia, so when you get a massive event like Magic City organized by the very people who did the legendary Transmission parties – you would expect a top night!

Headlining the night were top Hardstyle Label Fusion stars Noisecontrollers, The Pitcher and Jowan & MC DV8 (also known as two-thirds of the Donkey Rollers). For a performance of this level, The Family once again activated its event stage boasting an array of lasers, strobes, lights and a massive LED screen wall all being controlled and tuned to the DJ’s sets and performances.

From as early as 10pm there were a large number of people and an abundance of reflective and fluffy material bouncing around the dance floor. By the time Jowan had finished his set and The Pitcher was on stage, numbers had more than doubled and the dance floor, main room and VIP areas were packed – and why would it not be, The Pitcher moved straight into the harder styles ripping out crunchy basslines with a great balance of Pitcher tracks, Fusion tracks and even some Italian Hardstyle, Pitcher pumped it up hard as he warmed it up for the main act.

The finishing performance was definitely something special. Bas and Arjan are the insane duo known as The Noisecontrollers, and are amongst the most talented DJs and producers of their genre in Holland! Hit after hit they deployed a killer set, and coupled with MC DV8 performing on stage, you could close your eyes and be back at 2009’s DEFQON.1. The only drawback here was they were on at 3am and by that stage, a lot of people had gone home. The remaining crowd however, got amongst it throwing their hands in the air, headbanging, yelling and screaming and bouncing around the dance floor until we were told to leave. All in all, it was a great night and The Family once again lived up to their spectacular reputation.
